Our Mandate

The National Communications Authority (NatCA) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Sierra Leone’s telecommunications and ICT sector. Established under the NatCA Act 2022, NatCA ensures fair competition, consumer protection, and universal access to digital connectivity across the country.

NatCA evolved from the former National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) following the enactment of the Electronic Communications Act, driven by the foresight of Director General Amara Brewah. This transformation reflects the dynamic expansion of telecommunications into broader ICT domains, requiring modern, technology-neutral regulation.
